"Hello Space" is an indie title requiring a functional, animated main menu system. I designed and developed a fully working UI that blends retro pixel aesthetics with modern, minimalist web interaction principles.

Challenge

To create a menu that feels nostalgic yet mechanically fluid. The goal was to balance the "lo-fi" indie game charm with high-fidelity animations that provide instant tactile feedback to the player.

Solution

I implemented a clean, off-white aesthetic featuring custom pixel-art typography and reactive UI elements. The final build includes an animated loading sequence, a dynamic "controls" mapping interface, and seamless keyboard navigation (W/A/S/D + Enter). By using soft gradients and 3D-inspired planet motifs, I established a "cozy-space" atmosphere that differentiates the game from traditional high-intensity sci-fi titles.
